molly goddard

I've liked Molly Goddard since her AW15 collection. Her dresses caught my eye with her combination of crocheting, smock shapes, billowing sleeves, pleats and of course tulle. Her signature pieces, frothy candyfloss tulle dresses, are absolutely stunning. They're big dresses with a smock like silhouette, and create some really cool debutante gone wild looks.  Plus the tulle is just insanely beautiful, and makes all the dresses look slightly other worldly and ethereal. Some pretty bad ass ballgowns. Her use of band tees and iridescent dresses under her pieces also seem to enhance the whole experience; they have a sense of disconnectedness. Cross that with zingy satin pleated skirts and beautifully detailed hand sewing and you can see why I love her so much. They're frothy and girly, but also simultaneously grungy and unapologetic. Seriously cool.
