A/W nail favourites

I've been experimenting with braver nail colours for Autumn, and I really wanted to show you a few of my favourites.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in GNP31 - Mustard
I saw this polish in the Barry M section of Boots first, and it caught my eye. I wasn't sure about it though, as I know a mustard nail isn't everybody's cup of tea. Then I read Caroline's post about it, and decided I'd get it. I love the 70's vibe it gives, and although it isn't my usual nail colour I was surprised by how much I liked it. It reminds me so much of autumn leaves!

Essie "Matte about You" Topcoat
I bought this awhile ago after wanting a matte topcoat for ages. I know Essie nail paint is a little more pricey than your usual nail polish, but it is always such good quality and this product is definitely worth the money. It dries really so fast, and works quickly and efficiently. I think a matte nail is so refreshing, and is a nice change from the usual high shine products.

Topshop "Costume Ball" Nail Paint
I've used this as more of a topcoat rather than an actual colour, but I've loved it none the less. I think I featured it in my September favourites post, but I like it so much that I'm putting it here too. The gold pieces in it look so great under a darker shade. I wouldn't buy it expecting to cover your whole nail with gold, as the gold bits are pieces and you'd need a lot of layers to cover it completely.

Model's Own Artstix Polish Duo - Freaky Betty
I don't really have many Model's Own nail products, purely because I haven't ventured into one of their shops and I usually stick to nail brands that I'm familiar with. Some friends gave this to me and I decided to give it a go and test it out, and I was pleasantly surprised. Although I liked the idea of the "paint it, cover it" duo, I don't usually use both sides together. The navy blue end is a classic shade which I've used many times as a base, and the "cover it" end I've tried a few times and liked the result (although I prefer the "paint it!" end better)

Topshop Nail Polish in "Razzmatazz"
Although classically pastels are for Spring and Summer, I think this is an exception to the rule. It looks like a twilight sky in a bottle (ooh, getting descriptive). It's sparkly, and a gorgeous shade of dusky purple. I used a pink base and painted this over the top, and it looked amazing. (A friend described it as looking like a unicorn spat on my nail. I think it was meant as a compliment...)

Barry Nail Paint in NP273 "Raspberry"
I know that I showed this colour in my September favourites too, but I love it so much I wanted to show you again. Although it is called "Raspberry" I think it looks a little more maroon than your classic raspberry shade on your nails. Barry M nail colours do have a slight tendency to go a little gloopy/stringy if left unused for a long time, so I keep this one in the fridge. (Keep gloopy nail polishes in the fridge for easier application)
